Role: Optical Assistant - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Teal House, Tan House Lane, Widnes, Cheshire WA8 0RR
This role will be based within our Widnes cluster, which involves working across multiple sites.
Hours: Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, working 4 days out of 6, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Salary: £24,000

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant:
- Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
- Work alongside the optometrists in the day to day running of clinics carrying out the relevant diagnostics examinations.
- Assist in the running of pre and post-operative clinics for all patients.
- Act as theatre runner, escort in busy theatre environment.
- Be proficient in company database i.e medisoft.
- Follow correct procedure for reporting any accidents or incidents.
- Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities, ensuring all equipment is checked and ready for use.
- Ensure the correct storage of all equipment.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Assist with stock control, ensuring realistic par levels are maintained and all items are readily available.
- Manage all the diagnostic and theatre equipment on a daily basis.
- To ensure patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with GPDR.
