This role will be based within our Cambridge cluster, which involves working across multiple sites.
Hours: Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, working 4 days out of 6, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Joining us as a Healthcare Technician/Optical Assistant you will support our visions and values of safety, integrity, kindness and transparency which are embedded in our day to day care to ensure we deliver the best service possible. All of SpaMedica’s hospitals inspected by the CQC have been rated as Good or Outstanding.
Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant:
- Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
- Work alongside the optometrists in the day to day running of clinics carrying out the relevant diagnostic examinations.
- Assist in the running of pre and post-operative clinics for all patients.
- Act as theatre runner, escort in busy theatre environment.
- Be proficient in company database i.e. Medisoft.
- Follow correct procedure for reporting any accidents or incidents.
- Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities, ensuring all equipment is checked and ready for use.
- Ensure the correct storage of all equipment.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Assist with stock control, ensuring realistic par levels are maintained and all items are readily available.
- Manage all the diagnostic and theatre equipment on a daily basis.
- Ensure patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with GDPR.
