SpaMedica & Freedom Vision are on an exciting journey of growth and transformation — and we’re looking for an exceptional Change Manager - Governance to help shape our future. As one of the UK’s leading providers of ophthalmology services, we’re committed to delivering outstanding patient care and continuously improving how we work. This role is central to helping our people, processes and systems evolve so we can continue to deliver safe, effective and compassionate services.

About the Role

The Change Manager is responsible for leading the organisation’s Change Governance approach and providing oversight of the PMO, ensuring transformation initiatives are prioritised, governed, delivered and embedded effectively across the organisation. Firmly grounded in change management, governance and portfolio delivery principles, this hybrid position provides a critical link between organisational readiness, project assurance, decision-making and benefits realisation. The role holder will establish, maintain and continuously improve Change Governance and PMO frameworks, ensuring the transformation portfolio is aligned to strategic priorities, supported by clear controls, and delivered with transparency, consistency and measurable outcomes.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

  • Change Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement structured change management strategies and plans that support transformation objectives. Integrate change management activities into transformation project plans, collaborating with project managers and sponsors. Influence and engage leaders in the adoption of new ways of working and change management principles ensuring they become embedded as part of the organisations processes and culture.
  • Change Governance & PMO Oversight: Establish, maintain and continuously improve the organisation’s Change Governance framework, ensuring clear decision-making, prioritisation, escalation and assurance across the transformation portfolio. Provide oversight of PMO standards, processes, tools and reporting, ensuring projects are planned, tracked and managed consistently in line with agreed governance requirements. Coordinate portfolio-level reporting, including progress, risks, issues, dependencies, benefits and resource considerations, to support informed leadership decision-making. Support project sponsors and managers to maintain robust governance documentation, including business cases, project plans, risk registers, highlight reports and change control records. Ensure change governance forums operate effectively, with clear agendas, decisions, actions and follow-up, enabling timely escalation and resolution of barriers to delivery.
  • Impact Assessment & Risk Management: Conduct change impact assessments to understand effects on people, processes, and systems. Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth transitions. Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plans based on feedback and metrics.
  • Training & Capability Building: Support the design and delivery of training programs to equip employees with the skills and knowledge needed for transformation.
  • Collaboration & Culture: Foster cross-functional collaboration, creating supportive environments where teams feel connected and ready to adapt. Organise and direct change agents and champions to drive adoption and sustain momentum.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading change within transformation programmes.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of change methodologies such as Prosci, ADKAR, Prince2 or Agile.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience with project management and digital collaboration tools (e.g. Teams, Asana).
  • Emotionally intelligent, resilient, and confident managing ambiguity.
  • Healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in Business, Management, Organisational Development or similar.
