Our client is a strategic consultancy with roots grounded in robust research but their output and advisory is at an elevated level. They help their clients base their decision making on evidence and a solid understanding of the way the world is changing and what people think and feel about issues of all sorts. They work with clients across all sectors to help them understand how society, behaviour, markets, and value creation are changing in a fast-moving world.

The unique blend of capabilities combines deep expertise in research, data, strategy, and creativity to help businesses build better futures. They now seek a Business Development Manager to join the growth team and to drive new business for the research service line, covering quantitative and qualitative research, brand tracking, audience segmentation, stakeholder, and opinion research.

You will focus on research buyers: insight directors, heads of brand and consumer insight, and agencies who commission research. You are likely to be research literate but not necessarily a practitioner. However, if you are hungry to step up from a research background and feel you are instinctively more commercial than your current role is allowing you to be, that could be a great fit and put you on a faster track.

You could be in the PR, media, communication industry or be in a professional services consultancy where you are used to deciphering client issues and are savvy and confident enough to offer solutions. You will be supported in this by your expert colleagues on proposals and methods that deliver, so don’t worry about the process.

You will deal with enquiries as a first port of call, but a fair proportion of your time will be on outreach and prospecting. This is a growing, successful meritocratic business. They have a healthy attitude toward sharing the spoils of success so this role will be working towards establishing a target but there will be commissions to earn straight away, paid twice annually.

Their other benefits are first class and their culture is brave, creative and “In It together”. They celebrate imagination that’s grounded. They will display values that show professional integrity and they expect you to bring the energy. A company full of pragmatic, approachable people.
