Spalding DeDecker offers a tremendous hands-on learning experience to get you started in the industry. We offer paid internships in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Construction Engineering, Land Development, and Planning. In this unique position, you will have the opportunity to see how several departments operate and will work on some rather complex projects both in the field and in the office.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Surveying, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or a similar field at a college or university
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Willingness and ability to learn on the job
- Strong attention to detail and thorough follow-through skills
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
You will work under the leadership of a licensed Professional Engineer or Surveyor on projects we are working on for our clients. Working alongside other civil engineers, environmental engineers, surveyors and CAD Drafters, you will be out in the field on site visits, in the office designing in AutoCAD or MicroStation, or focused on performing engineering calculations, and much more.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- Individual must be willing to work in an office environment
- Attend client meetings and travel by car and/or plane if the project requires it
- Participate in industry events such as conferences, relevant presentations
- Perform project site visits
