As we continue to expand our provision at Chilton Bridge School, we are looking for a Digital Arts Practitioner to join our school community. Chilton Bridge is an independent special school for pupils aged 6 – 19, set in a beautiful location in Chilton Cantelo, near Yeovil.
At Chilton Bridge School we adopt a creative, individualised approach for students who have barriers to learning associated with social, emotional, mental health and ASC needs. Our curriculum approach, Enterprise Learning, allows our students to rebuild confidence in their abilities, feel safe and supported, and gain skills and knowledge that will allow them to thrive in the modern world.
Our practitioners work with our students as industry professionals, who deliver creative and active learning experiences to support the development of specialist skills and qualifications. As the Practitioner for Digital Media you will work with colleagues to plan and deliver projects that meet students’ needs, offering them a broad range of opportunities and experiences within your area of expertise.
We welcome applications from professionals who have a diverse range of specialisms and expertise which may include video, animation, games, photography, interactive media & design, creating fabric prints, fabric collages, wearable art using innovative techniques, creating sustainable & educational projects.
You must be able to build effective and supportive relationships with our students, which encourage their engagement and development of self-confidence and enjoyment. Applicants for Practitioner posts must hold relevant qualifications in their area of expertise (equivalent to level 3‑5). Being a qualified teacher is not a requirement, however experience of teaching or working within a relevant setting would be an advantage.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate expertise across a wide range of relevant software, technologies and the use of sustainable resources for projects. Candidates must have experience within their industry and a desire to teach. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate vocational experience as well as having excellent administrative and organisational abilities to perform the role successfully.
Candidates will be supported with a role specific induction and there are excellent opportunities for personal development, including support to gain a recognised teaching qualification.
