Silver Bridge School is a special school for pupils aged 6 to 19 years, based in Taunton, Somerset. Our creative, individualised approach to learning is centred around well-being and skills for independence. We adopt a creative, individualised approach for students who have barriers to learning associated with social, emotional, mental health and ASC needs. Our curriculum approach, Enterprise Learning, allows our students to rebuild confidence in their abilities, feel safe and supported, and gain skills and knowledge that will allow them to thrive in the modern world.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated caretaker who would like to provide a key role in maintaining our school site. Duties will include:

  • Maintenance of property and grounds to a high standard
  • Monitor site stock and order supplies
  • Carry out DIY above and beyond the scope of a competent DIY person, completing more specialist work as required
  • Carry out and record statutory checks and help maintain Health and Safety records

This is a part time position from Monday to Friday over 52 weeks. Exact hours are to be discussed at interview, but the preferred hours would be a split shift, with some hours completed in the morning and some to be completed in the afternoon. The salary advertised is the full time equivalent (£28,392) based on 37.5 hrs over 52 weeks. The role will be based across two sites within Taunton.
