Architect the Spacemade Way. Scale the Reality. Spacemade is at a tipping point. We are moving from a successful portfolio to a rapidly scaling national network, and we need a Strategic Lead to design the operational engine that powers it. This isn't just about managing sites; it’s about building the overarching strategy that enables us to open 5+ new locations every year without ever degrading our service quality or commercial rigour.
As Head of Operations, you are the architect of our systemic excellence. You will transform the COO's vision into a scalable reality, ensuring that every hub – from Wimbledon to Barbican – operates with the same high-performance culture and financial efficiency.
Your focus:
- Design Scalable Systems: Define the long-term operational roadmap and evolve our library of SOPs and digital tools (HubSpot, OfficeRnD, Monday) to support a 50+ site business.
- Master the Portfolio P&L: Maintain ultimate accountability for the Community department budget, optimising spend control within a 95% threshold to protect margins.
- Build the Next Generation of Leaders: Lead, coach, and empower our Senior Community Managers (SCMs), defining the KPI frameworks and succession plans that drive commercial results.
- Guard Statutory Excellence: Uphold 100% rigour across portfolio-wide health and safety (Fire, Water, Lift) and cybersecurity protocols.
- Drive Commercial Outcomes: Partner with SCMs to maximise Member Lifetime Value (LTV) through strategic renewal oversight and yield optimisation.
- Innovate through Technology: Identify and implement SaaS and automation tools to increase efficiency across all departments.
Success is Measured By:
- Scalable Foundations: The ability to open 5+ sites annually with zero degradation in service.
- Commercial Optimisation: Implementing a strategy that significantly increases Member Lifetime Value (LTV) and renewal rates.
- Operational Excellence: Achieving a network-wide Brand Standard Audit average that reflects our premium positioning.
You’ll Thrive in This Role If…
- You are an architect at heart – energized by building systemic foundations rather than just managing day-to-day tasks.
- You are commercially rigorous – you naturally find the win-win between premium hospitality and peak financial efficiency.
- You are a visionary with an 'owner' mindset – you can think three years ahead strategically while remaining grounded enough to fix immediate systemic gaps.
- You lead through coaching – you are dedicated to preparing your team for the next step in their careers.
- You are a change agent – you have a proven ability to lead teams through large-scale digital or operational transformations.
Skills & Knowledge:
- 5+ years of operations leadership in multi-site hospitality, flex workspace, or premium real estate.
- Mastery of P&L Management with experience managing multi-million pound budgets and driving EBITDA performance.
- Proven track record in Change Management, specifically leading digital or operational transformations.
- Strategic vision combined with the high-level HR and stakeholder management skills needed for a Senior Leadership Team (SLT) role.
Benefits:
- Supportive, friendly, hard-working team.
- Quarterly team socials and get-togethers.
- Dog-friendly office.
- Take a half-day on your birthday.
- Mental health personal day.
- One paid charity, volunteering, or fundraising day per year.
- Competitive salary and bonus scheme.
- 25 days holiday per year (excluding Bank Holidays).
- £50 per month wellbeing allowance.
- Cycle-to-work salary sacrifice scheme £2000.
Application Process:
If you’re a match, we will ask for:
- Quick intro – A short video or chat with our Head of People.
- A deep-dive interview with our COO.
- A case study – A take-home task to showcase your skills.
- Final interview – Meet in-person with our Senior team.
