The Laboratory Medicine department has a vacancy for a Specialist Medical Laboratory Assistant in the Point of Care (POC) Section. The role is based in Laboratory Medicine but involves visiting and supporting POCT services across clinical areas in the Trust. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week), with part-time options considered. Training will be provided and competency maintained as required. Applicants with previous medical laboratory experience are welcome, but full training will be given. The successful candidate will be literate, numerate and have excellent keyboard skills. Sponsorship for this position is not available.

Main duties include operating under both direct and indirect supervision on the wards and in departments that use POCT devices. The role supports the department’s commitment to an efficient, safe service for service users and patients.
