The Emergency department is looking for a night receptionist to offer clerical support within the Emergency Department reception area to ensure smooth operation of its service. The shift time is overnight which is 22:00-08:00, including all public holidays. The Emergency Department (ED) currently has over 44,000 new attendances each year. The department consists of reception area, triage, Majors area, Minors area, Pediatric cubicles, 3 bay Resuscitation room and a Clinical Decision Unit under the ED Management Team.
Main duties of the job:
- Register/book in all patients both as walk-in and emergency admissions by ambulance ensuring that all details are correct and double registration is avoided.
- Take responsibility for the admissions, transfers and discharges (ATD) on the hospital Patient Administration System (Lorenzo) for all patients admitted to SSEU.
- Create emergency registrations and referrals for wards within the hospital when the admissions team is unavailable.
