About the job
- Location: Hybrid (Remote/Office): This role offers remote work with a requirement to attend the office at least one day per week. Additionally, occasional travel to youth centres and other delivery locations will be required based on operational needs.
- Employment Type: 12 months Fixed-Term Contract with potential to extend to become permanent
- Hours: 0.61 FTE (22.5 hours per week). Flexible working applies to this role. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required

What is the role
This role comes as we prepare to celebrate ten years as a charity in 2027. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering marketing and communications strategies across the organisation with the goals of:
- Increasing brand awareness among young people and potential and existing donors/supporters
- Celebrating contribution and potential of young people whilst communicating the challenges they face
- Increasing income from community support, individual donations, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations and public bodies, working closely with the Fundraising team
- Ensuring consistency and regularity of communications with and for external audiences
- Identifying and implementing internal communications best practices
- Retaining and engaging more young people with our in-person and digital services (during period of national review of Social Media for under 16s)
- Evidence of leading campaigns achieving measurable engagement, brand, service-use or income-related outcomes.
Experience required:
- Charity, youth, education or public-sector experience
- Experience of working to deadlines, planning workload and coordinating others, as required, to ensure they are met
- Experience communicating effectively with a diverse range of audiences and tailoring approach to ensure relevance and drive engagement
- A fast learner who can quickly grasp new concepts, take the initiative on new projects, and remain open about areas for growth.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and presentation skills.
- Experience in using marketing and design software to a professional level. Such software may include Canva, Adobe CC suite of apps, META, social media scheduling and analytics software, email marketing software such as Mailchimp, digital advertising platforms such as Facebook Ads and Google Ads, and SEO software such as SEMrush
- Experience of managing communication channels ensuring regular, consistent messaging and adherence to brand
- Experience of holding significant responsibility (including budgets) and managing workload to ensure challenging projects are delivered on time.
- Ability to travel between work locations, subject to reasonable adjustments.
