The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for progressing all Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs), either generated by yourself or with support of our new business partner. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about business development and growth strategies and who will be able to nurture leads as well as influence and feed into our marketing and brand plan.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business & Lead Conversion
- Qualify, nurture and convert inbound and outbound leads into new business opportunities
- Identify and develop new opportunities through outbound activity and relationship‑building
- Progress MQLs to SQLs, either self‑generated or in partnership with the agency’s new business partners
- Ensure RFIs and RFPs are well‑qualified and delivered to a high standard
- Build trusted, consultative relationships with prospective clients
- Sales Process & Pipeline Management
- Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and reporting through the agency CRM
- Take ownership of outbound activity, including networking and direct prospect outreach
- Forecast short, medium and long‑term new business opportunities
- Ensure consistent application of the agency’s new business process
- Track performance against targets and identify opportunities for improvement
- Strategy, Marketing & Brand Contribution
- Input into the agency’s marketing, brand and thought‑leadership activity
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders on propositions, credentials and pitch materials
- Feed market insight into service development and positioning
- Support creation of content and case studies to strengthen new business efforts
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with marketing, client experience, and specialist teams
- Support the creation of case studies and pitch materials
- Attend conferences and networking events to build relationships with prospective clients and industry partners
- Host frequent roundtables for target clients with colleagues who specialise in the relevant area
Ideal candidate
- Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally within a marketing or agency environment
- Strong understanding of the Property, eCommerce and/or Health & Wellness sectors
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercially astute with a results-driven mindset
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams
- Familiarity with CRM systems and expert pipeline management
