At Space NK, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded HR Business Partner to support our Inner London retail region, partnering directly with a Regional Manager, four Area Managers and their store leadership teams. This is a highly autonomous role where you'll take ownership of your region's people agenda, balancing hands-on employee relations support with proactive talent and leadership development initiatives. You'll act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, helping them build high-performing teams, manage risk, improve engagement and create exceptional employee experiences.

Supported by a dedicated HR Assistant for administration and process management, you'll focus on providing expert guidance, coaching leaders and driving meaningful people outcomes across the employee lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Employee Relations Leadership
    • Lead and manage a broad range of employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, absence management, flexible working and family leave cases.
    • Coach and develop managers to build confidence and capability in people management.
    • Identify trends and root causes, implementing proactive solutions to reduce ER activity and improve team performance.
    • Deliver a training curriculum on employment law, policy and best practice.
    • Maintain a visible presence in stores, building strong relationships with leaders and teams and coaching around the people agenda.
  • Talent & Performance
    • Partner with leaders and a dedicated Retail Recruitment Advisor to attract, engage, develop and retain great talent.
    • Support succession planning and identify future talent opportunities across the region.
    • Drive performance and talent conversations, ensuring robust development plans are in place.
    • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to support recruitment activity, new store openings and hiring manager capability.
    • Champion a positive candidate and employee experience at every stage of the employee lifecycle.
  • Strategic Business Partnering
    • Build trusted relationships with regional and area leadership teams.
    • Use people data and insights to identify opportunities and influence business decisions.
    • Support the delivery of key People initiatives, projects and change programmes.
    • Drive engagement, inclusion and leadership capability within your region.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of People processes, policies and ways of working.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in an HR Business Partner role within a multi-site environment, ideally retail or hospitality.
  • Strong employee relations expertise with the confidence to independently manage complex cases.
  • A commercial mindset and ability to translate business challenges into practical people solutions.
  • Proven experience coaching and influencing leaders at multiple levels.
  • Strong understanding of talent, performance and succession planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

This is an opportunity to own and shape the people agenda for a key retail region, partnering closely with senior operational leaders while making a tangible impact on employee experience, leadership capability and business performance. If you enjoy balancing strategic business partnering with hands-on people support and want to be part of a collaborative, values-led business, we'd love to hear from you.
