Role Overview
The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager plays a vital role in developing talent at Space NK. The role will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training and development programs and cross functional projects across retail stores, head office and the Distribution Centre (DC). This role works closely with the Head of Learning, and Talent Development, supporting and inputting to the evolvement of the L&D Strategy. The role will lead and deliver key programmes, initiatives and projects which drive a high-performance culture, foster an environment of continuous learning and shapes an environment of inclusion and belonging. The role will act as an ambassador of talent development equipping colleagues with skills to thrive in our fast and exciting business, and working with management teams to foster career progression which supports our company goals and hinges on our company values and behaviours (V&Bs).
Key Responsibilities
- Training Delivery and Facilitation
- Delivers engaging, high-impact in-person and virtual training sessions.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop specialist content that aligns to the employee life cycle.
- Partners with the Retail and Education Team to ensure induction and onboarding programs are consistent for all new starters to the business.
- Is a role model for the V&Bs and competencies and ensures they are embedded into all workshops, programs and supporting tools.
- Provides the frameworks and advice to People Partners to develop high-potential employees through the delivery of tailored development plans.
- Uses performance management insights to identify succession opportunities for managerial roles particularly around new store openings.
- Collaborates with the Head of Learning and Talent Development to design, deliver and embed development programs for identified and future talent.
- Works alongside colleagues within the People Team to provide bespoke learning solutions that will impact team performance and the Space NK customer experience.
- Collaborates with the Workplace Experience Manager and Senior People Team to ensure the diversity, inclusion and belonging (DIBs) agenda underpins the Space NK V&Bs and drives activation(s) across the brand to celebrate and progress the agenda.
- Works with internal and external parties to further embed and progress DIBs into the Space NK culture.
- Create opportunities to further highlight the value “Know and Feel You Belong” value through development programs and training sessions.
- Actively seeks opportunities to educate others in order to enhance the Space NK culture.
- Introduces digital tools and learning technologies to enhance delivery and accessibility for all employees.
- Works with the performance management platform to drive engagement, manage reporting and utilise data to develop current and future talent strategies.
- Takes an active role in the launch and embedding of new learning platforms, tools and initiatives for teams across Space NK.
- Measure effectiveness of training through feedback, pulse surveys and performance impact.
- Partners with the People Team to deliver an engaging bi-annual culture survey and utilises these insights to influence others to continually enhance culture at Space NK.
- Regularly update and refresh learning materials based on feedback and evolving business needs.
- Is curious about L&D trends and is focused on how these will support future talent and growth.
Qualifications, Knowledge, And Experience
- Ideally 3+ years of working in Learning and Development, Training, or HR at manager level.
- Demonstrated experience designing content and curriculum and delivering training moments in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills and confidence in art working/design.
- Proficiency with tech platforms, digital learning tools and a LMS (preferably).
- Experience of analysing data and insights to make informed business recommendations.
- Strong influencing, communication and relationship management skills.
- Is a team player who is motivated by collaboration and teamwork.
- CIPD qualification or similar L&D/HR certification (desirable).
