SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. The Production Coordinator in Fleet Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the seamless movement and tracking of parts and materials to support SpaceX's rapid vehicle turnaround, refurbishment, and reuse operations. This role ensures operational efficiency, data accuracy, and compliance across maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maximize fleet readiness for missions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, track, and move parts as required through the company to ensure timely delivery to next maintenance location or fleet turnaround site.
  • Push/pull physical movement of parts through receiving inspection, stock rooms, purchasing, maintenance resources, or any applicable work center within SpaceX fleet operations.
  • Promote workflow consistency and accuracy across fleet maintenance operations while working to drive down internal logistics lead-time for vehicle readiness and reuse.
  • Ensure parts are handled and protected properly and within SpaceX specifications for maintenance and refurbishment activities.
  • Coordinate off-site processing of parts (e.g., repairs, inspections, or upgrades) to ensure on-time delivery back to active fleet operations.
  • Work with the planning, procurement, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure our MRP/ERP data is and remains clean and accurate for fleet scheduling and inventory management.
  • Assist with resolution of incorrect system data which is driving inappropriate demand, maintenance schedules, or could result in general fleet downtime or failure.
  • Update and utilize metrics to drive results as applicable with maintenance personnel, focusing on turnaround times, reuse rates, and asset availability; work with maintenance supervisors and managers to ensure all metrics-driven action requirements are completed for fleet health and mission readiness.
  • Develop and maintain reports to highlight needs, deliverables, and constraints as required for internal fleet operations and customer (e.g., NASA or commercial) use.
  • Assist maintenance leadership and project teams with action item updates related to vehicle inspections, repairs, and certifications.
  • Support logistics processes through innovative staging of workflow for fleet staging areas, hangars, and turnaround pads.
  • Support management of material certifications as required – prevent use of uncertified materials in fleet maintenance and refurbishment.
  • Support maintenance and inventory personnel with “return to stock” and inventory purge actions for post-mission hardware.
  • Communicate timely with internal stakeholders on internal projects.
  • Organize and dispatch technicians to active job sites and work orders.
  • Schedule outside vendors for support with scheduled maintenance contracts, including vendor repairs and specialized services.
  • Organize and maintain the physical and electronic library for fleet maintenance-related tooling, calibration database, and certification records.
  • Support projects or productivity development activities within assigned fleet maintenance cells or turnaround teams.
  • Support assigned fleet maintenance cells with work order management activities, including tracking repairs, compliance checks, and downtime minimization.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 1+ years of experience supporting departmental administrative processes.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong computer skills, familiar with the full suite of MS Office products.
  • Experience in organizing files and documents.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing/maintenance environments.
  • SQL and Tableau experience, APICS certification.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, with familiarity in maintenance planning software.
