The business is a well-established, high-growth B2B payments multinational serving SMEs and mid-market clients internationally. Operating in a regulated environment, it delivers cross-border payments, FX risk management and treasury solutions, with a strong focus on service, technology and compliance. The company has an experienced executive team, a clear growth strategy, and is at a pivotal stage of maturity and scale.
The Board is seeking a Non-Executive Director with a strong finance and CFO background from the B2B payments, fintech or regulated financial services sector. This role replaces a long-standing Non-Executive Director who stepped down approximately 12 months ago. The successful candidate will provide independent oversight, financial stewardship and constructive challenge, with particular responsibility for audit, risk and financial governance.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, offering strategic and commercial insight grounded in deep financial expertise
- Chair the Audit & Risk Committee, overseeing:
- Financial reporting and controls
- Risk management framework and regulatory compliance
- Relationship with external auditors
- Capital allocation and liquidity
- Growth initiatives and investment priorities
- Regulatory and operational risk
- Former CFO or senior finance leader within B2B payments, fintech, FX, banking or regulated financial services
- Strong understanding of:
- Payments infrastructure and revenue models
- Regulatory environments and risk management
- Scaling financial operations in growth businesses
- Board meetings: 1 every 2 months
- Audit & Risk Committee (Chair): 1 meeting per quarter
- Remuneration Committee: 1 meeting every half year
- Ad hoc support: Up to 8 hours per month for review, queries and guidance
