Space Executive is hiring for a rapidly scaling UK payments company. Our client is a regulated payment facilitator building the infrastructure layer for modern commerce platforms. They enable marketplaces, SaaS platforms and multi-party businesses to embed payments natively and monetise them, handling seller onboarding, KYC and AML, compliance, payment orchestration, split payments and revenue sharing through a single integration. Because they hold the regulatory permissions themselves, their clients do not need their own licence. They are an FCA authorised payment institution, PSD2 compliant and PCI DSS Level 1 certified, with card scheme partnerships in place across the major networks.
Following a £5.7m Series A and further follow-on investment, they are into their next phase of scale: deepening the product, expanding into new verticals across the UK and EU, and building out the commercial team behind it. Over 1,000 businesses on the platform, 3x year on year growth, and around 70 people.
The role involves:
- A full cycle Account Executive seat within a business development team that sits at the centre of how this company grows.
- Working a book of ICP leads while identifying and qualifying your own prospects.
- Building relationships with decision makers, running discovery, delivering presentations, negotiating and closing.
- Communicating with and influencing C-suite stakeholders on why they should switch payment partner.
- Understanding client requirements and shaping the commercial solution around them.
- Working alongside a Senior Account Executive on larger opportunities, and with product, compliance and onboarding teams to get clients live smoothly.
- Owning your target and how you hit it.
The sale is consultative and commercially led. You are talking to founders, CFOs and heads of product about transaction volumes, cost of processing and how they turn payments into a revenue stream, so it lands as a P&L conversation rather than a technical one.
What they are looking for:
- Experience selling a complex product with a sales cycle of 3 months or more.
- Pipeline generation as a genuine requirement of your current role, not just working inbound.
- Track record of prospecting, developing relationships and closing deals yourself.
- CRM disciplined, with experience working alongside leadership on a growth plan.
- Self-driven, creative in your approach, comfortable with real autonomy.
No payments or fintech background required. Full product and market training provided. They have been explicit that attitude and fit carry as much weight as an exact experience match, so if the profile is close, it is worth a conversation.
What is on offer:
- Competitive base and commission equity for top performers.
- Hybrid working.
- A genuine route to senior as the commercial team scales.
