A well-backed, pre-Series A startup is on a mission to bring software speed to industries that have been slowed by outdated, manual systems. They're building the infrastructure that lets complex, real-world work move as fast as software, and they need a Mobile Engineer who wants to own the entire mobile surface area, not just execute tickets. If you want to sit with users in the field, decide what gets built, and ship it yourself, this is the role.
Company Culture
- High-ownership, high-trust - you're expected to define problems as much as solve them
- In-person in London - a tight-knit team that moves fast and holds itself to a high standard
- No politics, no friction - visas, meals, and tools are all covered
What's on Offer
- Competitive compensation at an early, high-upside stage ~ £150k
- Visa sponsorship fully covered
- Meals and tooling provided
- In-person London office with a lean, senior team
What You'll Be Doing
- Shipping to production from day one - owning real product surface area immediately
- Sitting with customers in the field to understand how they actually work on-site and on-the-go
- Designing and building end-to-end mobile workflows, from UI and local state through to sync logic and data
- Translating messy, real-world field processes into clear and intuitive mobile software
- Dropping into native modules when React Native isn't enough - camera, sensors, background tasks, secure storage
- Designing for unreliable connectivity - local persistence, offline capture, conflict resolution, and reliable sync
- Integrating AI-powered features (LLMs, agents, model-backed APIs) into mobile workflows
- Running customer calls, writing the spec, building, and shipping - end-to-end ownership throughout
What We're Looking For
- Mobile Engineering (Core Requirement)
- Strong experience with React Native and TypeScript, building production-grade cross-platform apps for iOS and Android
- Solid understanding of native mobile fundamentals and comfort reaching into Swift or Kotlin when the RN layer isn't enough
- Experience shipping and maintaining apps through the App Store and Google Play, including release and update cycles
- Ability to reason about complex offline-first workflows and constraints, not just standard CRUD applications
- AI and Backend
- Experience integrating AI systems - LLMs, agents, or model-backed APIs - into production mobile products
- Comfortable building and consuming backend services to support complex mobile workflows (Python a plus)
- Ways of Working
- Strong product judgment - opinionated about what to build, what not to build, and when to ship
- Comfortable talking directly with customers, including non-technical domain experts
- Thrives in high-ownership environments where requirements are unclear and evolving
