A post-Series B open banking infrastructure company is looking for a Junior Cloud Engineer to join a small, high-functioning platform team. You'll be helping maintain and evolve the cloud foundation that underpins a regulated, multi-national FinTech environment - learning as you go, with real mentorship and room to grow into SRE responsibilities over time. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the team in building and documenting new cloud infrastructure capabilities that help engineers use the best and most efficient parts of the cloud
  • Maintaining and testing infrastructure templates and automation scripts to ensure a safe, smooth developer experience
  • Working on deployment pipelines so engineers can build securely and in line with all guidelines and certifications
  • Monitoring infrastructure costs and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements
  • Collaborating closely with engineers across the business, embracing a DevOps culture
  • Training towards joining the SRE on‑call rotation - playing a key role in keeping the platform up and running

What We’re Looking For

Cloud Infrastructure (Core Requirement)

  • Familiarity with fundamental cloud computing concepts on AWS, GCP, or Azure, and a strong desire to learn best practices for operating cloud infrastructure
  • Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code principles and tools such as Terraform

Scripting and Automation

  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Go, shell, or similar) and a genuine passion for automating repetitive tasks

Containerisation

  • An understanding of container concepts such as Docker, and a willingness to learn Kubernetes orchestration

Nice to Have

  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, firewalling, VPCs)
  • An interest in security and building secure‑by‑default infrastructure
  • Awareness of regulated workflows and compliance frameworks (ISO27001, SOC2, GDPR)
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tooling
  • Some understanding of how CI/CD pipelines work
