Job Title: Events Marketing Manager

Currently partnered with a fast growing payment scale up who have just received a £4m injection of cash!

The business offer various payment solution – Payment Gateway, Open Banking Payments, Direct Debit, Real-time payments.

Key verticals include – Financial Services, Ecommerce, and Ticketing.

Clients include – Rangers FC, Flutterwave, Verto, Oakbrook and many others.

Role Overview:
The Events & Memberships Manager will lead, plan, and deliver strategic events and manage membership body relationships, supporting business growth and strengthening industry relationships. This role requires experience in the payments/Fintech space and a results-driven, adaptable mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
● Plan and execute lead-generating events—including trade shows, industry roundtables (Payment Pods), client dinners, webinars, and hosted sessions—with a focus on securing Marketing Qualifi ed Leads (MQLs), prospects, and meetings for the sales pipeline.
● Manage budgets, logistics, and promotional activities alongside the broader team to maximise ROI and ensure every event delivers measurable commercial value.
● Oversee the organisation and delivery of conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities that directly contribute to pipeline growth and new business acquisition in the payments sector.
● Proactively lead relationships with key industry bodies (e.g., CSA, CCTA, MALG) and relevant associations to drive high-quality referral leads and new introductions, enhancing the company’s industry presence.
● Act as the main stakeholder for all event initiatives, seamlessly coordinating with product, sales, compliance, and marketing teams to ensure event goals are tightly aligned with business development targets.
● Design and implement in-event and post-event lead capture, nurturing, and follow-up processes to maximise conversion of attendees and members into sales opportunities.
● Track and analyse event channel performance through conversion metrics (e.g., number of MQLs, prospect meetings, opportunities), continuously optimising formats and targeting for higher engagement and pipeline impact.
● Develop and manage event and membership budgets with clear outcome targets, monitoring spend against MQL, ROI and revenue goals.
● Oversee the CRM system for end-to-end event and lead tracking, ensuring data accuracy, robust prospect communications, and ongoing engagement/conversion insights.
● Build and leverage relationships with membership bodies to systematically generate qualifi ed leads and meetings, using targeted outreach, gated content, and tailored engagement strategies to achieve commercial outcomes.
● Represent the company at external industry events, prioritising opportunities that are likely to deliver strategic introductions and sales growth.
Requirements:
● Proven experience in events management, preferably in the payments or wider fi ntech industry.
● Strong project management, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
● Profi ciency with CRM systems (HubSpot) and event management platforms
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer-focus.
● Able to manage multiple events and priorities with attention to detail and strong time management.
● Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams- marketing, commercial, product.
● Sound understanding of the payments industry, its key stakeholders, and regulatory landscape is highly desirable.
● Analytical mindset for evaluating event and membership ROI and success metrics, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Desirable:
● Experience with digital events and hybrid event formats.
● Deep understanding of HubSpot an advantage
This role is instrumental in raising the organisation’s profi le in the payments industry and maintaining high levels of membership body engagement. The successful candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, able to deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment.
