The purpose of the role is to… As a Mechanical CAD Design engineer, you will learn to develop your knowledge and skills for using 3D CAD software, product knowledge and best practices within the CAD Department to allow primary focus on new innovations to meet with ever changing markets.
What you’ll be doing…
- Creating component CAD 3D part models
- Primary CAD processing for standard products and production processes.
- Creating accurate 3D assembly models and manufacturing instruction drawings in line with our latest CAD production processes.
- Understanding new product concepts, P&ID diagrams, and commercial cost restraints.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in refrigeration engineering, incorporating relevant advancements into design processes.
- Understanding customer requirements.
- Learning a good understanding for the overall design and concept – What we are doing and why?
- Learning a good understanding for the electrical elements within design through the electrical team.
- Implementing current production processes into all new innovations and standard product designs
- Creating accurate Assembly bill of materials within CAD and transferring to Syspro MRP system.
- Assisting commercial team with proposal drawings for new products.
- Managing designs against cost restraints to set time scales, arrange and attending design update meetings.
- Work closely with other technical departments within Space Engineering to obtain set targets.
- Attend tier meetings when required.
- Consulting with suppliers and ensuring we receive the best value and quality.
- Provide regular design progress updates and managing time efficiently.
- Ensuring all projects closed on time and to the highest standard.
