The Role

The Account Manager will be directly responsible for managing a portfolio of supplier accounts consisting of hotels and spas throughout the assigned geographical area. You will be required to develop a strategy to enable growth through effective management of existing venues, and by signing up new partners. The role will report into and include working closely with the Lead Product Manager to identify opportunities and to deliver an 'end to end' procurement and contracting solution to meet the established company headline KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • You will have responsibility for meeting and exceeding your revenue, margin and availability targets of your spa and hotel portfolio.
  • To create a strategy to grow the assigned geographical area and help to form the Product departmental strategy.
  • To meet set objectives and departmental KPIs which are linked to profitability and sales via supplier procurement.
  • Collaborating closely with the Lead Product Manager to support new products and initiatives, while establishing and implementing robust processes to ensure their successful execution.
  • To manage existing accounts, provide regular feedback, engage with sales reporting and highlight opportunities to grow the business.
  • To maximise revenue from existing and new accounts through the creation of commercial deals with key partners through overrides or other income streams.
  • To support the XML integrations manager to achieve our connected venues target.
  • To source product in the most efficient and cost effective way while maximising allocations, availability and revenue and protecting the overall margin.
  • Support, contribute and manage ancillary revenue streams, in line with objectives.
  • Visiting key partners in their locations and occasional travel to visit venues for account management and to assist the onboarding process.

Requirements

  • A strong communicator; you must be able to pro-actively manage your portfolio and upwardly report any issues or barriers to the Lead Product Manager.
  • Proven experience in driving performance against key KPIs and targets, with a strong focus on delivering measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial thinking, having a proven track record in securing competitive rates, exclusivities and alternative sources of revenue.
  • Experience in working with XML connections and contracting product via various sources, including channel managers, bed banks and direct contracts if desirable.
  • Strong delivery focus, excellent attention to detail, having the tenacity and resilience required to flourish in a pressurised and constantly evolving environment.
  • Pragmatic and hands-on, you must also have an affinity with the product, and an appreciation of the sales process.
  • Experience of product management or account management/development in the travel and/or spa industry is desirable.
