Purpose
As Digital Marketing Manager for a UK based leisure brand, you will inform the strategic development and lead the hands‑on execution of our digital acquisition strategy, with a primary focus on PPC. This role combines strategic ownership with day‑to‑day campaign execution, driving customer acquisition and optimising ROAS across paid search and shopping, while also overseeing our affiliate programme and working closely with an external SEO contractor to align organic activity with the wider marketing plan. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical and data‑driven, using performance insights to inform campaign optimisation, budget allocation, and strategic decision‑making. With PPC as our primary acquisition channel, deep hands‑on expertise in this area is essential, alongside the ability to manage complementary channels such as affiliates and coordinate effectively with SEO expertise sitting outside the immediate team. The successful candidate will need to have regular visits to other group offices across the UK.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
- Owning and executing the PPC strategy across Search, Shopping, Display and Performance Max, including budget setting, bid strategy, and ongoing optimisation
- Managing the day‑to‑day running of PPC accounts, including implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and scaling of campaigns
- Managing the affiliate programme, including network relationships, commission structures, and identifying opportunities for growth or cost savings
- Briefing and collaborating with the external SEO contractor, ensuring organic and paid activity are aligned and insights are shared across both channels
- Monitoring and responding to the evolving PPC landscape, adopting new platform features and adapting strategies to market and algorithm changes
- Owning performance optimisation across PPC and affiliates, ensuring maximum ROAS and efficient budget allocation based on data‑driven insights
- Establishing and maintaining reporting frameworks and dashboards to track channel performance, budget pacing, and ROI
- Conducting regular analysis of campaign performance, customer acquisition costs, and lifetime value to inform strategic decisions and budget allocation
- Collaborating with other teams across the business, including brand and product, to ensure campaign alignment with broader marketing objectives
- Presenting performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders
Skills & Experience
- Experience in digital marketing with deep expertise in PPC, including managing significant budgets
- Expert‑level proficiency with Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Display, Performance Max), plus strong experience with Bing Ads and Meta Ads
- Experience managing affiliate programmes, including network relationships and commission structuring
- Working knowledge of SEO principles, with the ability to brief and collaborate effectively with an external SEO contractor
- Highly analytical and data‑driven, with strong performance analysis skills, including attribution modelling and customer journey analysis
- Strategic thinker with strong hands‑on execution capabilities, comfortable working at both strategic and tactical levels simultaneously
- Proven track record of scaling PPC activity while maintaining or improving efficiency metrics and ROAS
- Proficient with analytics and reporting platforms (GA4, Tableau, or similar), with the ability to build custom dashboards and translate complex data into actionable insights
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, including presenting data‑driven recommendations to senior leadership
- Experience in travel, e‑commerce, or marketplace businesses highly beneficial; familiarity with CRO principles and A/B testing frameworks advantageous
