Heating And Air Conditioning (HVAC) Engineer

Role Purpose

To deliver a high, responsive and valued engineering service across building services projects.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement

• Continuously assess and improve engineering processes to increase efficiency, quality, and team productivity
• Encourage a culture of experimentation, feedback, and data-driven decision-making
• Ensure that the team is using the most appropriate tools and methodologies for project management, version control, and delivery

Technical Expertise

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
• Design, install, and maintain HVAC systems
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of HVAC systems
• Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems and related infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
• Collaborate with the project management team to develop and implement efficient HVAC solutions tailored to customer needs
• Prepare reports on system performance, repairs, and any necessary replacements
• Maintain and update technical knowledge on the latest HVAC technologies and industry trends

Personal Specification

• Bachelor\’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field (or equivalent technical certification)
• Valid gas safety certification (e.g., Gas Safe Registered or equivalent, if applicable)
• Strong understanding of HVAC design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• In-depth knowledge of gas heating systems and ventilation components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites
