Role Purpose
To deliver a high, responsive and valued engineering service across building services projects.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement
- Continuously assess and improve engineering processes to increase efficiency, quality, and team productivity
- Encourage a culture of experimentation, feedback, and data-driven decision-making
- Ensure that the team is using the most appropriate tools and methodologies for project management, version control, and delivery
Technical Expertise
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Design, install, and maintain HVAC systems
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of HVAC systems
- Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems and related infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop and implement efficient HVAC solutions tailored to customer needs
- Prepare reports on system performance, repairs, and any necessary replacements
- Maintain and update technical knowledge on the latest HVAC technologies and industry trends
Personal Specification
- Bachelor\’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field (or equivalent technical certification)
- Valid gas safety certification (e.g., Gas Safe Registered or equivalent, if applicable)
- Strong understanding of HVAC design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- In-depth knowledge of gas heating systems and ventilation components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites
