Site Manager (Overhead Lines)
Location: South & East Scotland – projects in Edinburgh, the Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, and South Ayrshire. Site‑based role with travel across multiple project locations.
Employment: Full‑time / Permanent, 37‑hour week.
Salary up to £62,425, plus a strong benefits package and overtime opportunities.
Pension scheme with double matching of contributions up to 10% of your salary.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage contractor programmes in line with overall project delivery timelines.
- Oversee the construction and commissioning of overhead line projects.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and environmental standards.
- Drive quality and environmental performance, ensuring mitigation measures are implemented and monitored.
- Support the delivery of works across distribution and transmission networks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working on overhead line or transmission projects, ideally within utilities or infrastructure.
- Exposure to projects across distribution and/or transmission networks (11k V – 400k V).
Experience on higher voltage works (132k V, 275k V, or 400k V) is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong understanding of overhead line construction, maintenance or commissioning activities (foundations, pole/tower erection, stringing or reconductoring).
- Experience working within a DNO, utilities, or infrastructure environment.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations, site safety and temporary works.
- Experience reviewing, approving or working with RAMS and permit systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with contractors and site teams.
- Qualifications / certifications (or working towards): SMSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid.

Overtime: optional –Mon–Sat (8pm–midnight): Time & ½; Mon–Sat (midnight–8am): Double Time; Sundays: Double Time.
Annual leave: 36 days (additional days can be purchased). Business mileage: £0.45/mile up to 10,000 miles, £0.25 thereafter.
