ScottishPower’s Drawing Office is expanding to support significant growth in transmission projects, and we are looking for a Senior Engineering Designer to join the team. In this role, you will act as the 3D/BIM focal point within the Drawing Office, supporting the delivery of high‑quality engineering modelling and drawing solutions for transmission network projects (132kV and above). Reporting into the wider Project Design Services function, you will play a key role in embedding BIM into day‑to‑day delivery, ensuring outputs are accurate, consistent, and compliant with project, safety, and quality standards. You will work closely with engineers, design leads, and the central BIM team to translate BIM strategy into practical workflows that enhance efficiency and delivery across live projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the adoption and integration of BIM tools, standards, and processes within the Drawing Office.
  • Translate BIM requirements into practical workflows that support efficient daily delivery.
  • Ensure consistent application of BIM standards and high‑quality design outputs.
  • Act as the key interface between the Drawing Office and the central BIM team.
  • Support engineers and design leads in embedding BIM into business‑as‑usual project delivery.
  • Provide training, guidance, and troubleshooting on BIM tools and processes.
  • Deliver targeted 3D modelling and coordination support for complex or critical activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Drawing Office efficiency through BIM adoption.
