Location: Cambuslang. Salary from £63,200 with up to 15% annual bonus and single person healthcare. Permanent position reporting to the Overhead Line Design Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a group of professional Design and Senior Design Engineers.
  • Provide advice on pre‑contract design and delivery of projects, including technical aspects of OHL systems.
  • Carry out assessments of engineering documentation for feasibility and compliance with client requirements and support accurate budgeting.
  • Oversee and undertake basic and detailed engineering specifications and designs for OHL systems.
  • Provide technical assessments of tender submissions and make recommendations.
  • Define OHL system requirements for SCA, Project Technical Specifications and UK trading agreement documentation.
  • Lead technical tender assessment of OHL systems, including ancillaries and suppliers.
  • Support Project Development and Delivery teams on design, construction and operation of OHLs and associated equipment.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience, with or working towards membership of a professional institution.
  • Significant experience using PLS-CADD software and in overhead line engineering for transmission networks.
  • Strong inter‑personal and communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to promote and implement CDM and health & safety best practice within a design environment.
  • Willingness to undertake short trips and flexible working hours as required.
