Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a group of professional Design and Senior Design Engineers.
- Provide advice on pre‑contract design and delivery of projects, including technical aspects of OHL systems.
- Carry out assessments of engineering documentation for feasibility and compliance with client requirements and support accurate budgeting.
- Oversee and undertake basic and detailed engineering specifications and designs for OHL systems.
- Provide technical assessments of tender submissions and make recommendations.
- Define OHL system requirements for SCA, Project Technical Specifications and UK trading agreement documentation.
- Lead technical tender assessment of OHL systems, including ancillaries and suppliers.
- Support Project Development and Delivery teams on design, construction and operation of OHLs and associated equipment.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience, with or working towards membership of a professional institution.
- Significant experience using PLS-CADD software and in overhead line engineering for transmission networks.
- Strong inter‑personal and communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to promote and implement CDM and health & safety best practice within a design environment.
- Willingness to undertake short trips and flexible working hours as required.
