An exciting opportunity for a Reporting Accountant has arisen in the Group Control team, this role is integral to delivering all internal and external financial reporting for the Group. Working within the Group External Reporting and Consolidation team, you will work closely with the other Business and Group Control teams to ensure that the consolidated financial reporting for the Group is delivered to a high standard.
What you’ll be doing
- Working proactively across all ScottishPower businesses and Iberdrola Control, ensuring that external reporting packs and statutory accounts are produced to a high standard, delivered to agreed timetables, and fully compliant with relevant accounting standards and legislation.
- Maintaining strong technical knowledge to guarantee that all reporting outputs meet required legal and regulatory expectations.
- Maintaining a robust control environment, ensuring that procedures and processes comply with Group Policies and that all documentation remains accurate and up to date.
- Continually reviewing and challenging existing business practices to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
- Supporting the consolidation and delivery of all external financial reporting requirements for ScottishPower.
- Contributing to creating a positive and supportive team environment by ensuring staff have clear objectives, receive regular feedback, and are supported in their development.
- Flexibility and adaptability to consistently meet deliverables and objectives to a high standard and within required timescales.
What you’ll bring
- Qualified Accountant with relevant PQE.
- Experience of preparing statutory accounts under IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Full compliance with Iberdrola Group Governance, procedures, and reporting timetables.
- Ability to apply all relevant accounting standards and legislation as appropriate.
- Identify and assess the impact of developments in IFRS on financial reporting for ScottishPower Group.
- Confidence, ability and presence to constructively challenge at all levels.
- Strong self-performance management and delivery focus with the ability to balance conflicting requirements.
- Understanding the impact of complex accounting issues and communicating the results clearly and concisely.
