Overview: The role manages and safeguards training programmes across Apprenticeships, Engineering, Craft, Graduate and scholarship initiatives to achieve the organisation’s Net Zero journey. Remuneration £55,000 per annum plus competitive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguard trainees throughout the duration of all training programmes.
- Coach, mentor and manage approximately 50 trainees across a range of programmes and disciplines.
- Drive health and safety compliance for the trainee population.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trainees, business managers and other stakeholders.
- Proactively manage and deliver current development programmes in line with business requirements.
- Monitor trainee performance and implement additional support to ensure timely completion of programme requirements.
- Review and communicate training plans to trainees and business stakeholders; ensure attendance and completion of mandatory courses.
- Engage key business contacts, including Health & Safety, district management, HR and external educational providers.
- Support Learning in evaluating training providers to ensure effective delivery of educational requirements.
- Conduct 12 weekly reviews with trainees, recording meaningful conversations and development progress.
- Lead the development of new training programmes in conjunction with Programme Leaders and HR teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience managing large teams, preferably in the energy sector.
- Working knowledge of company code of conduct, disciplinary procedures and HR policies.
- Knowledge of compliance with company safety rules and health and safety legislation.
- Experience in safeguarding, with proven record preferred.
- Strong communication skills across financial, technical and business levels.
- High degree of self‑motivation, enthusiasm and the ability to coach and mentor others.
