Join ScottishPower SP Energy Networks to construct, maintain and repair electrical distribution networks across Scotland, England and Wales. You will support the transition to a Net‑Zero future by ensuring a reliable supply of power to over 3.5 million homes and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out safe, efficient site works in accordance with company policy and national safety rules.
  • Maintain and repair circuit breakers, batteries and transformers in substation or workshop environments.
  • Drain and replenish oils, including removal of residual carbon deposits, using pumps and direct contact techniques.
  • Work at height using ladders, safety harnesses and fall‑arrest systems while following engineering controls and environmental conditions.
  • Plan and execute maintenance tasks proactively, as part of a team or independently.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and customers, delivering excellent customer service 24/7/365.

Qualifications & Experience

  • City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent in electrical fitting or minimum equivalent experience.
  • Historical or current employment as an electrical fitter in LV, HV or EHV networks.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
