Help us create a better future, quicker. To assist a Craftsman and undertake preparatory work and finalise work on completion of Jointing activities. As an Electrician / Jointer's Mate, you will play an essential role in supporting the Jointer by assisting the jointing team in various tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude to contribute to the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Safety attendant to the craftsman on site in accordance with training skills and authorisation levels.
  • Ensure all site works are carried out safely including, where appropriate, acting as the nominated person in charge of safety for the duration of all works attended.
  • Assist in Jointing Activities: Work closely with experienced jointers to assist in cable jointing and associated activities. Follow instructions and contribute to the efficient and safe execution of the task.
  • Site Preparation: Support the jointing team in the preparation of work sites, including excavation, trenching, and other groundwork activities. Collaborate with the team to ensure that work areas are safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Material Handling: Assist in the handling, transportation, and organisation of materials and tools required for jointing tasks. Ensure the proper storage and care of equipment to maintain safety standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety guidelines and protocols at all times. Participate in safety briefings and contribute to the identification and mitigation of potential hazards.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of jointing activities, including material usage and work performed. Report any issues or concerns to the jointing team and supervisors promptly.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively engage in training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in jointing activities. Seek guidance from experienced jointers to develop expertise.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in a support role within the energy, construction, or utility industry is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and cable jointing processes is desirable.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public.
  • Driving licence.
