Job Description
SP, part of the ATS Group are recruiting for a Material Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Ipswich.
With safety, quality, efficiency and customer service as a priority, the Material Logistics Coordinator will be a critical part of the business. Using your import and export knowledge you will facilitate the receiving, moving and shipping of supplies, stock materials and products. You will manage the flow of orders requiring strong reliance on monitoring and coordination of delivery pickup and/or drop off schedules. You will execute the logistics plan for both domestic and international projects with an emphasis on controlling costs whilst meeting schedule, customer and compliance requirements.
With international shipping there is a need to have an understanding of Incoterms. A proactive approach is needed within the department working closely with the Production Team and Material Controls Team to manage, plan and prioritise workloads.
Key Tasks
- Receiving material into the facility and distribution to the appropriate points of use
- Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
- Working in FIFO manner to ensure all jobs are processed sequentially
- Managing courier deliveries and collections; and tracking accordingly
- Maintain good inventory accuracy by having a meticulous level of detail
- Interface with worldwide customs, freight forwarders and clearing agents
- Maintaining accurate stock holding and performing inventory counts where applicable
- Identifying, investigating and processing inventory discrepancies
- Loading and unloading deliveries manually and via forklift truck operation
- Ensuring timely dispatch of sales orders to the daily sales order backlog
- Updating data on all spreadsheets required for import and export compliance
- Ad hoc tasks; all aspects of working within a busy receiving and dispatch environment are required to be carried out.
