The Ratings Operations (ROS) team is dedicated to supporting the efficient and effective delivery of global Ratings processes. As an Operations Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative team that values each member’s contribution to achieving shared goals. You will work closely with colleagues across Commercial, Data, Analytical, Compliance, and Technology functions, ensuring your work aligns with the broader objectives of S&P Global. This role has a global reach, working with teams across data, technology, and operations to deliver transformation initiatives to analytical and other end users. You will help guide analysts and business partners through ratings processes and contribute to process improvement efforts. Responsibilities
- Complete key steps of the end-to-end ratings process for low and medium complexity jobs for one practice independently, ensuring pace and quality to meet customer needs.
- Apply your skills and knowledge to produce defined outputs, paying close attention to detail and meeting specific timelines and quality targets.
- Support team priorities, including job processing, continuous improvement, and change management, with pace and quality to meet customer needs.
- Seek ways to work with others and contribute outside of your assigned tasks, actively participating in collaborative efforts and team discussions.
- Demonstrate proficient understanding of the end-to-end ratings process, SOPs, operating manuals, and standard work.
- Guide analysts and other business partners through the ratings process and support change management of improvement efforts.
- Take initiative to provide support to your team and voice continuous improvement needs, participating in problem-solving and process improvement efforts.
- Understand key metrics to support the management and improvement efforts of ROS.
- Understand the role of Ratings Operations and its alignment with other functions within S&P.
- Connect key partners to solve business problems and participate in improvement efforts to meet customer needs.
- Have a learning mindset and actively advance your skills by leveraging a development plan and the ROS skills matrix.
- Support team members and work as a team to live the ROS mission and achieve the ROS vision.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week. We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A S&P employee at this level typically has at least one year of applicable professional experience in an operations or client-facing role.
- Must be able to prioritize, multitask, and stay poised in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while ensuring the highest quality output.
- Comprehensive English communication skills (Intermediate level reading, speaking, and writing) are required.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a particular focus on customer service.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a variety of business partners in a team-oriented, global environment.
- Strong ability to guide and influence colleagues and stakeholders.
- Must be an adaptable self-starter who wants to take the initiative and drive tasks to completion with strong execution.
