About the Role:

Our transaction reporting consulting team is expanding, and you will play an important role in continuing to make it all happen. S&P Global's Cappitech Consulting Practice is seeking a skilled Regulatory Reporting SME to join our team of experts delivering strategic and operational solutions to leading financial institutions. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with key trade and transaction reporting regimes, with strong SFTR or MiFIR knowledge as a minimum (including regulatory texts, guidelines, best practices, industry challenges...), and will involve a blend of BAU oversight, issue remediation, and advisory/consulting work on regulatory change projects. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to design, implement, and enhance reporting frameworks, leveraging S&P Global's technology, data, and regulatory expertise to deliver tangible value.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, review, and enhance clients' transaction reporting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform data analysis, reconciliation, and exception management to resolve reporting breaks and enhance data quality.
- Interpret new and evolving regulatory requirements, advising clients on their implications and required process or system changes.
- Support system enhancements, UAT, and migration projects for regulatory reporting solutions.
- Partner with client stakeholders, trade repositories, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Contribute to design and implementation of best-practice control frameworks for reporting governance and oversight.
- Assist in regulatory readiness assessments, gap analyses, and operational support.
- Able to work as a bridge between compliance, business and technology.
- Produce high-quality documentation, process maps, and client deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience in trade and transaction reporting in a financial institution, consultancy, or vendor setting.
- Strong working knowledge of at least one of SFTR or MiFIR; multiple regimes preferred, SFTR or MiFIR a must. EMIR desired but not essential.
- Exposure to North American regimes CFTC, SEC-SBSR, CSA would be a plus.
- Proven experience with reporting operations, reconciliations, exception management, and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of financial products and asset classes including derivatives, fixed income, equities, and securities financing transactions.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory technical standards and validation rules.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Python) an advantage.
- Excellent communication, client-facing, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with regulatory reporting platforms (DTCC, UnaVista, Regis-TR, ICE Trade Vault, MarketAxess).
- Exposure to data governance, operational risk controls, or compliance frameworks.
- Prior consultancy experience with client delivery responsibilities.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline.
- Professional qualifications (CISI) beneficial but not essential.
