About the Role:
The Product Platforms Design Product Owner – Commercial is responsible for delivering user-centered, technology-enabled solutions that optimize how commercial systems and data distribution platforms are designed and maintained. Working within an Agile team, this role translates strategy and user insights into actionable product features that drive measurable efficiency and business value.
Key responsibilities include:
- User Experience and Flow Design: Apply flow-based design thinking to create seamless, intuitive user experiences across the commercialization process of indices and data.
- Backlog Ownership: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog for commercial and data distribution platforms, ensuring alignment with business strategy, compliance standards, and operational needs.
- Execution Leadership: Write clear, testable user stories that meet the Definition of Ready and Done, supporting Agile sprint planning and delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, designers, and other Product Owners across Value Streams to manage dependencies and ensure consistent delivery across asset classes and systems.
- Stakeholder Communication: Use structured feedback loops and customer advocacy to influence roadmap direction and drive continuous improvement across equity platform capabilities.
- Delivery Excellence: Lead product demos, contribute to MVP planning, and support training and feature rollouts to maximize value realization for internal and external users.
This role contributes directly to the scalability, accuracy, and innovation of S&P DJI's index and data commercialization process — enabling seamless connectivity between data, technology, and client outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Experience in product management or product ownership within an Agile and scaled Agile (SAFe) environment.
- Ability to translate complex user and business requirements into actionable backlog items and deliverables.
- Strong collaboration and facilitation skills to align stakeholders across Product, Technology, and Index Operations.
- Data-driven approach to prioritization and decision-making, balancing user value with technical feasibility.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and influence outcomes across teams.
- Demonstrated curiosity and empathy in engaging with users to uncover insights and improve product usability.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Lead-to-Cash ecosystems, CRM (e.g., Salesforce), contract lifecycle management, or billing systems, with the ability to connect business needs to product platform solutions.
- Experience with commercial systems, CRM, billing, or data distribution platforms.
- Familiarity with data integrations, workflow automation, or index lifecycle tooling.
- Exposure to financial technology platforms or cloud-based enterprise systems.
- Understanding of product analytics, feedback loops, and continuous improvement methodologies.
