This role supports the EMEA Controllers organization with UK and other jurisdictions managed out of the London office, to ensure that the accounting operations are timely and accurately reported and that local statutory and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) requirements are adhered to, in addition to supporting enterprise-wide initiatives.

The Team: Reporting to the Associate Director - Financial Accounting, you are part of the EMEA Enterprise Controllership Leadership team, which is a team of 29, responsible for managing the accounting operations in the region and supporting the Company's accounting and finance activities.

  • Analyse key balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Support month-end processes, including journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post payroll journals, reconciliations, including necessary accruals.
  • Allocate monthly intercompany cross charges related to Payroll Benefits.
  • Analyse monthly financial reports and present findings to the board quarterly.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare financial statements for legal entities per FRS/IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Liaise with external auditors for timely completion of statutory audits.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial and non-financial information to local authorities.
  • Support preparation of tax returns and related accounting workflows.
  • Prepare UK Group VAT returns and manage associated accounting workflows.
  • Assist the UK & Bermuda Controller with mergers, acquisitions, and legal entity restructuring.
  • Support process improvement projects by identifying and implementing best practices.

Requirements:

  • 3 years' experience in an audit, finance or accounting role, preferably in Public Accounting, including a thorough understanding of IFRS and accounting standards generally accepted in the United States (US GAAP).
  • Good understanding of general tax accounting and local tax regimes.
  • Experience of financial statement preparation under IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
  • Hybrid - 2 days a week in office.
  • Team player with good working relationships, strong team management and leadership qualities.
