The S&P Global Energy Finance team provides information, insights, and decision support to internal business partners to optimize financial performance, improve decision making and drive growth of the Energy business. The team regularly interacts with other divisions and corporate to support enterprise initiatives.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Sales Reporting and Analysis – manage net sales progression, forecasts and ad hoc reporting. Deliver weekly sales reports for Senior Commercial Leaders and monthly OpCo reporting.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting – produce and enhance regular deliverables including monthly Commercial P&L reporting and quarterly executive-level reporting, and deliver insights on revenue drivers and variances.
- Business Partnering – partner with Commercial and Finance leadership on supporting sales and pipeline reviews, as well as acting as a key liaison for headcount requests, Commercial approvals and operational issue resolution.
- Commercial Performance & Operations – monitor deal-level performance throughout each month including Commercial approvals and improve governance across risk pipeline, deal approvals and Commercial processes.
- Analytics & Transformation – drive development of new forward-looking analytics, including pipeline-based forecasting, retention and renewal modelling, cross-sell and new logo tracking. Support budget planning (2027 and beyond) with enhanced analytics, and identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation in reporting and close processes.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or accounting.
- Strong background in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent financial field.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for resolving operational and financial problems.
- Strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with ERP (Oracle Financials), Salesforce.com, Anaplan, Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx is preferred.
