About the Role:
The Head of Finance Transformation is accountable for the end-to-end transformation portfolio across the Finance function—spanning operating model, process modernization, technology enablement, data/controls evolution, and AI/automation initiatives. This role serves as the “umbrella” leader coordinating both large-scale and incremental change, ensuring initiatives are prioritized, funded, executed, and adopted to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Finance Transformation Strategy & Roadmap
- Partner with CFO, Finance Leadership Team (FLT), and key enterprise partners to define the future-state Finance vision and target operating model.
- Build, maintain, and continuously refine an integrated multi-year transformation roadmap across Finance (people, process, technology, data, controls).
- Establish transformation standards (delivery methodology, stage gates, documentation, and KPI/benefits tracking).
- Portfolio Leadership & Program Governance
- Own the Finance transformation portfolio: intake, prioritization, sequencing, dependency management, and resource planning.
- Drive executive governance forums; provide transparent status reporting, risk management, and decision support.
- Coordinate delivery across Finance process owners, Finance Technology, Data/Engineering, Shared Services/COEs, and external partners.
- Manage transformation delivery partners (consultants/contractors): define scopes and success measures, oversee day-to-day execution, and ensure quality, timelines, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Partner with the Enterprise PMO to ensure visibility, consistency, and alignment with enterprise initiatives.
- Value Creation & Benefit Realization
- Lead business case development, ROI modeling, and investment prioritization; ensure benefits are baselined, tracked, and realized.
- Implement value tracking dashboards and outcomes reporting for CFO/FLT.
- Change Management & Adoption
- Build and execute a Finance-wide change strategy: communications, training, stakeholder engagement, role/skill evolution, and adoption measurement in partnership with key partners and stakeholders.
- Build strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment across Finance, Technology, Data, Shared Services, and business partners; proactively manage expectations, dependencies, and communications to drive adoption.
- Ensure new ways of working are embedded (controls, ownership, SOPs, KPIs, continuous improvement).
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.
- 12+ years in Finance transformation, consulting, finance operations, or enterprise program leadership.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional portfolios (process + technology + change) in complex global organizations.
- Strong financial acumen (planning, close, controls) and experience with ERP/Finance platforms; strong understanding of data and governance concepts.
Core Skills & Competencies:
- Portfolio/program leadership; executive communication and influence.
- Operating model design; process re-engineering (Lean/Six Sigma a plus).
