About the Role:
The Role: You will be working in the E&P Terms and Above-Ground Risk team, an industry-leading provider of analysis on above-ground issues affecting the hydrocarbon sector. We are dedicated to providing oil and gas companies and governments with actionable insights to inform upstream investment decisions, portfolio choices and policymaking. You will also collaborate extensively with geologists, consultants and colleagues involved in low-carbon initiatives.

Responsibilities:
We’re seeking a highly motivated individual to:
- Lead forward-looking analysis of the above-ground risk environment for the upstream hydrocarbon industry across the MENA region, producing highly client-focused research - often through multi-team, collaborative efforts.
- Monitor and assess key above-ground developments affecting the upstream sector, evaluating their impact on regional and country-level attractiveness.
- Engage with clients on these topics through presentations and discussions.
- Maintain and update key above-ground information across a range of internal and external trackers.
- Collaborate with other teams to deliver timely, high-value integrated research.
What We’re Looking For:
Are you an analytical thinker who knows and understands the MENA region in great depth? Do you enjoy delivering actionable insight to companies and governments?
Your background:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in politics, economics, political economy, energy law or similar area. Further studies on energy policy/regulation/taxation or similar area would be desirable.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in the upstream sector in the MENA region, or equivalent research experience focused on the region.
- Prior experience producing high-quality research and analyzing above-ground risks - with a particular focus on political, economic, and regulatory dynamics - across the region, ideally spanning multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong critical thinking and the ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative information.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
- Effective time management and a detail-oriented approach.
- Experience with the use of AI tools in a research environment would be beneficial.
- Proficiency with MS applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with energy transition trends preferred.
- Must be flexible, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with coworkers of different levels of experience and background and indifferent locations around the world.
- French, Arabic or other relevant language skills preferred.
