About the Role:

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Product Developer/Solution Designer to lead the evolution of our settlement solution. You will apply your deep understanding of payment and settlement infrastructure and processes to develop forward-thinking product strategies that anticipate evolving market and regulatory trends. Your expertise will be pivotal in expanding our post-trade ecosystem and driving digital transformation within the payment and settlement sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and continuous enhancement of our established and growing settlement solution consisting of over 50 custodian banks.
  • Proactively anticipate and address evolving market dynamics and regulatory changes impacting payment and settlement cycles, keeping our solutions at the forefront of innovation.
  • Forge strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including custodians and Central Securities Depositories (CSDs), to ensure seamless interoperability across the ecosystem.
  • Track usage, consumption and costs across the network with a continuous focus on optimisation.
  • Apply deep domain expertise in existing payment and settlement infrastructures to drive informed and impactful product development to eliminate the most significant pain points for our network participants.
  • Champion digitalization strategies to optimize settlement processes and drive operational efficiency. Drive R&D efforts to plan and execute on these efficiency gains.
  • Design roadmaps and strategies that deliver iterative value to our customer base, ensuring high levels of customer engagement throughout each change programme.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with key industry players, including SWIFT, CLS, and other critical financial market infrastructure providers.
  • Drive engagement with new payment infrastructure providers such as Partior, Fnality, DTCC, Euroclear, Fragmos, HQLAx.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the payments and settlement domain, with a proven history of leading successful digitalization initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of payment and settlement processes, encompassing operational, regulatory, and technological complexities.
  • Hands-on experience with emerging real-time settlement technologies across traditional cash, securities and digital stores of value.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including custodians, CSDs, and other financial intermediaries.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, coupled with a proactive and innovative mindset.
  • Experience within a bank settlements team (FX/MM/Derivatives) or with an industry settlement utility is a plus.
  • Proven experience in change/project management in a growing/evolving business.
  • Successful at working with management and senior stakeholders at different levels.
  • Experience in driving industry working groups would be advantageous.
  • Understand and have views on concepts of DLT and how they can reshape the payments/settlements landscape.
