Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11.

The Credit Ratings team is an integral part of the Global Ratings Services team, comprising a diverse group of 1,400 analysts spread across key financial hubs worldwide.

We are dedicated to delivering high‑quality insights and exceptional client service across all industry sectors.

The Structured Finance and Alternate Investment Funds practice evaluates the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures by analysing underlying asset performance, structural protections, cash‑flow mechanics, and downside stress scenarios.

Analysts produce opinions that help issuers and investors compare complex instruments, bringing market‑relevant perspectives on topics such as performance trends, issuance conditions, and AI’s role in origination and securitization.

Responsibilities

  • Team Contribution & Capability

Building: Provide day‑to‑day guidance/coaching to research assistants and rating analysts; codify standard work to promote consistency; strengthen AI‑enabled productivity by creating reusable assets; partner with senior team members and data/engineering to identify and scale AI/automation use cases with governance‑by‑design.

  • Core Analytical & Delivery: Lead end‑to‑end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high‑quality analysis and timely delivery; own surveillance/updates, synthesize performance and market signals; support LLM tools/automation embedded to accelerate workflows, validate and refine outputs; maintain and review models for robustness.
  • Stakeholder & Market

Engagement: Engage external parties with senior team members; craft client‑ and executive‑ready stories translating complex data into clear narratives; advise on issues within clear parameters.

Build trusted stakeholder relationships through emotionally intelligent, collaborative delivery.

  • Risk Management and

Operating: Ensure adherence to methodology, confidentiality, and data governance; embed responsible, governed AI use; drive controlled automation and agentic workflows, support testing, rollout, and training; define guardrails for automation versus human‑led decisions.

Qualifications

  • Specialized experience in ABS, RMBS, and corporate securitisations with demonstrated ability to influence and advise junior colleagues.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills; capacity to make decisions where clear parameters exist.
  • Ownership and execution maturity across multiple credits with limited oversight.
  • Strong collaboration, relationship management, and coaching capability.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and AI fluency with judgement.
  • Experience embedding AI/LLMs/agents into workflows to improve productivity and insight.
  • Strong credit/financial/risk analysis linking drivers to forward‑looking views and risk appetite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present research in a clear, structured way.
  • High standards for quality, traceability, and governance; sound judgement on responsible AI use.
  • Ability to contribute to scalable automation/agent workflows.
  • Additional Information

An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have three to five years’ of relevant work experience.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; a master’s degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued.

Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
