SP Exec are partnering with a leading multi-site hospitality business to appoint an experienced Head of HR. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing organisation at a pivotal stage in its journey. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll lead the development of a commercially focused HR function that supports operational excellence across a large national estate.
This is not a role for someone looking to simply maintain an existing HR department. We're looking for an experienced HR leader who enjoys building capability, influencing senior stakeholders and implementing people strategies that drive business performance.
The Role
As Head of HR, you'll lead the HR agenda across a fast-paced, multi-site operation, partnering closely with the executive leadership team to develop a high-performing culture and ensure the business has the talent, capability and infrastructure to support continued growth. This is a broad leadership role, balancing strategic direction with operational delivery across every aspect of the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the company's HR strategy, aligned with wider business objectives.
- Partner with the COO and senior leadership team on all strategic people and organisational matters.
- Lead recruitment strategy across operational and support functions, building strong internal talent pipelines.
- Develop succession planning and leadership capability across the business.
- Design and implement robust performance management frameworks that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead all employee relations activity, including complex case management, organisational change and restructuring.
- Ensure HR policies, procedures and employment practices remain legally compliant and commercially effective.
- Drive employee engagement, retention and wellbeing initiatives across the estate.
- Build and develop learning and development programmes that strengthen leadership capability and internal progression.
- Lead, coach and develop the HR team.
- Oversee HR systems, payroll and people reporting, ensuring accurate data and meaningful management information to support business decisions.
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded HR leader who understands the demands of high-volume, operational businesses. You'll be equally comfortable supporting senior executives with strategic decisions as you are working alongside operational leaders to solve day-to-day challenges across a national estate.
Essential Experience
- Significant senior HR leadership experience within hospitality, restaurants, pubs, hotels, QSR or retail.
- Proven experience supporting large, multi-site operations.
- A demonstrable track record of building, transforming or significantly improving an HR function.
- Strong employee relations expertise, including complex case management and organisational change.
- Experience partnering with COO, Managing Director or Executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of shift-based, customer-facing workforces.
Please note: Applications from candidates outside hospitality, restaurants, pubs, hotels, QSR or retail will not be considered.
You'll Bring
- A commercial mindset with a strong understanding of operational business challenges.
- The credibility to influence stakeholders from frontline management through to board level.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A data-driven approach, using people metrics to influence decision making.
- High standards, resilience and genuine accountability.
What's on Offer
- £90,000 – £100,000 salary plus benefits.
- The opportunity to shape and lead the HR function within a successful, growing hospitality business.
- A highly visible role working directly with the executive leadership team.
- The chance to make a lasting impact within a dynamic, multi-site organisation.
