We’re one of six distribution network operators in the UK and are regulated by Ofgem. Come and be part of our team and make a difference.
The evolution from a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to a Distribution System Operator (DSO) is driven by the development of a Smart Grid. This modernised network incorporates significantly enhanced monitoring and control capabilities across all voltage levels, far beyond traditional systems. The Smart Grid enables real-time management of energy flows and system constraints, allowing assets to operate closer to their maximum capacity. It also supports both local and centralised automatic corrective actions when needed.
As a field-based Telemetry Technician, you will play a key role in supporting this transition. Your responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and other intelligent electronic devices. These devices form a critical part of the SCADA/Control System used by SP Electricity North West to monitor and control the entire electricity network.
The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.
