A Fantastic Opportunity: Cable Jointer

Our role

As an authorised Cable Jointer, you will work on the SP ENW underground electricity distribution network under live and dead conditions. You will participate in repair, maintenance inspection and fault-finding activities commensurate with your authorisation level. As an experienced Jointer you will be expected to:

  • Work with street furniture faults, replacing single and three-phase service terminations, finding and repairing customer services, restoring supplies to multiple customers including LV operations, and repairing high voltage cables;
  • Complete Point of Work Risk Assessments, raise permits, and use disc cutters, breakers, hand tools and mini diggers to excavate in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and company codes of practice.

What we’re looking for

  • A City & Guilds (or equivalent) in an electrical subject;
  • An understanding of safety systems and the importance of risk assessments;
  • A willingness to work outside in all weathers;
  • A customer focus with the ability to communicate clearly;
  • A full UK driving licence.
