A Fantastic Opportunity: Design Planner

The Design Planner will lead a diverse technical team to deliver high‑quality, policy‑compliant designs and ensure projects meet agreed financial and performance goals. This role involves actively tracking progress, addressing challenges, and applying appropriate controls to keep work on plan while upholding safe working practices in line with Construction, Design and Maintenance (CDM) requirements.

The role holder will provide clear technical guidance, coaching, and support to team members, fostering an environment where everyone can contribute and develop. They will also ensure the wellbeing, safety, and professional needs of colleagues are prioritised and responded to promptly and effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in secondary network design (LV–11kV) within a DNO/DSO environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution network components, network operation, operational policy, design standards, and specifications.
  • Good understanding of industry and regulatory requirements within electricity distribution.
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM regulations.
  • Programme management experience with the ability to track and report against project performance.
  • Ability to interpret, analyse, and work with technical data.
  • A full, clean, UK driving license.
