SP Electricity North West is looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team and provide expert commercial and contractual support across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations, internal controls, and industry standards.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver and control post-contract management across multiple projects while maintaining high-level commercial assurance on contracts, including NEC, JCT, and bespoke frameworks.
- Drive performance through improved contract management and variation control, supporting project managers with forecasting and spend control to ensure efficiency.
- Assist in building budget estimates for PAG approval using cost data and measurement techniques.
- Monitor delivery partner progress on-site, verify costs, and manage compensation events.
- Lead on contract resolution issues with a focus on affordability and risk mitigation.
- Partner with procurement to select contractual routes and evaluate tenders.
- Carry out mini-tender procurement activities for non-framework projects.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to align objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience in contract management and negotiation (NEC/JCT essential).
- Knowledge of claims resolution and valuing variations.
- Awareness of cost value reporting (CVRs), cost control, and forecasting.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage differing interpretations of contract terms.
- Experience managing high-value, multi-disciplined projects.
- Chartered or working towards (RICS/CIOB/CICES) desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
