Roles Available- Substation Fitter Apprentice
- Cable Jointer Apprentice
- Overhead Line Worker Apprentice
- Install, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical plant apparatus in substations
- Work with equipment such as switches, isolators, circuit breakers, batteries, and transformers
- Carry out fault repairs and maintenance in line with Health & Safety standards
- Learn from experienced team members and contribute to real‑world projects
- Install, maintain, and repair underground electrical cables
- Support the flow of electricity from substations to towns and cities
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions as part of a skilled team
- Play a vital role in powering homes and businesses across the region
- Build, maintain, and repair overhead electricity lines
- Work on wooden poles and steel towers across 14,000km of overhead network
- Learn to work safely at height with full training and support
- Help deliver power to farms, rural homes, and remote communities
- Study for: City & Guilds Level 2 qualification, Level 3 Power Network Apprenticeship
- Receive support from a dedicated work‑based mentor
- Starting salary of £15,700 with annual increases
- 23 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)

When attending your interview, you’ll be considered for all three roles. We will assess your strengths and interests to help match you to the most suitable pathway. Interviews are being held W/C 16th March 2026 (subject to change). All applicants will undergo a standard pre‑employment check process which includes references, a medical appointment, DBS and drug & alcohol testing.
