Sowena Group have been exclusively retained in supporting an established logistics business with the search for a new Commercial Business Analyst. The Commercial Analyst will support the Commercial Business Analyst and wider sales and finance teams by preparing reports, analysing data, and maintaining key datasets. This role is suited to someone comfortable using data visualisation tools and manipulating large datasets to create bespoke reporting and analysis using Microsoft Excel. You will assist with performance reporting, costing and pricing analysis, data preparation, and process improvement activities. This is a hands-on role with strong opportunities for career development.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Reporting & Data Analysis
- Support the development and maintenance of regular financial and non-financial performance reports
- Build and update commercial reports, dashboards, and trackers
- Assist in turning raw data into clear insights and visualisations for stakeholders
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support, including performance analysis and basic forecasting
- Commercial Support
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of costing models and pricing data
- Help monitor sales trends, customer performance, and key commercial metrics
- Support competitor and market analysis activities
- Contribute to the preparation of presentations for stakeholders
- Process Improvement & Systems
- Support continuous improvement of reporting processes and data quality
- Assist with data collection, documentation, and organisation of key systems

Person Specification
- Essential
- Previous experience in a commercial or analytical role
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts)
- Comfortable handling and interpreting large datasets
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to communicate data clearly and simply
- Proactive, organised, and eager to learn
- Interest in commercial performance, finance, or data analysis
