Sowena have partnered with a growing, PE-backed manufacturing business, who are looking for a pricing analyst to join their growing team. This role is perfect for a new graduate or a part qualified professional (e.g. actuarial, finance, or data-related disciplines), looking to develop their career in pricing, actuarial, analytics or insurance. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a commercial environment with exposure to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of pricing models, helping define dynamic pricing logic that responds to demand signals, cost inputs and competitive positioning
- Support rate reviews and pricing adjustments based on performance and market conditions
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across pricing systems
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and pricing opportunities
- Monitor portfolio performance, including profitability and customer behaviours
- Identify under-penetrated categories, segments and geographic areas when pricing adjustments can unlock incremental demand
- Monitor supplier performance, analysing how dynamic buy in prices can be defined and developed, whilst maximising overall performance and profitability
- Produce regular reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with finance and data teams to improve pricing strategies
- Conduct competitor and market analysis
- Define and track key pricing and commercial KPIs
- Enhance existing governance and processes, improving efficiencies and driving ‘on-system’ improvements
- Contribute to the broader commercial strategy with regular communication to key stakeholders, including sales and account management
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Degree in a numerate subject (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Actuarial Science)
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Good attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Commercially aware with an interest in pricing and risk
- Resilient and motivated, able to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines
- Eager to learn and continuously develop skills
- Team player with a collaborative mindset
Desirable:
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical tools
- Knowledge of insurance or financial services
- Progress towards a professional qualification (e.g. actuarial exams, CII, ACCA)
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
