Our client is an industry leader in building and operating utility-scale energy storage projects, and they are looking for Field Engineers to join their growing team.
What your responsibilities will include:
- Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, warranty repairs, and annual performance tests on energy storage systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues on-site at BESS locations.
- Monitor system performance and analyze operational data.
- Update system software and firmware as required.
- Provide remote technical support to customers by phone or online.
- Manage spare parts and inventory.
- Ensure strict compliance with workplace safety regulations and company standards.
- Carry out safety risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
- Complete daily administrative tasks such as timesheets, vehicle checks, and service reports.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on product development and projects.
- Share field insights to improve future system design and performance.
To be a great fit for the Battery Storage Field Engineer role, you will have:
- Educational background in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering (or related discipline).
- Recognized vocational qualification (e.g., electrician or high-voltage equipment fitter).
- Hands-on experience in electrical work or multi-skilled maintenance.
- Basic IT/computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, troubleshooting software).
- Certification to work safely on-site (safety training or equivalent).
Preferred qualifications (not essential):
- Experience working with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Knowledge of HV/LV power electronics (inverters, converters, transformers).
- Training in HVAC and/or F-Gas certification.
- Understanding of IT/networking concepts (command-line tools, remote desktop, subnets, VLANs, MODBUS/TCP).
- Authorization to work with high-voltage (HV) systems.
- Certification for handling Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases (F-gas) or ozone-depleting substances.
- Registered electrical engineer with the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (for candidates with qualifications in Hungary).
- Energy Sector Professional Qualification.
